YBGLI Gears Up for the Second Policy & Advocacy Summit

Atlanta, GA March 26, 2014—The Young Black Gay Men’s Leadership Initiative is excited to announce the second Policy & Advocacy Summiton Wednesday, April 2 – Friday, April 4, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. Held at the Atlanta Renaissance, this two-day event brings Black, bisexual, same gender loving and other men who have sex with men from around the United States together to build the capacity and leadership of young Black men who have sex with men (YBMSM) in order to: a) more effectively influence domestic knowledge and information sharing of YBMSM; and b) improve HIV prevention, care and treatment mobilization efforts for this population. Highlights of the summit include: An Affordable Care Act World Café where attendees will join roundtable discussions surrounding ACA and learning more about its impact on young Black gay men. The summit will feature an additional 12 sessions crafted with the aide of 25+ HIV/AIDS professionals who make up the summit faculty members. On Thursday from 7:30 pm-9:30 pm ET, YBGLI will host a live, Twiiter Town Hall: Portrayal of Black Gay Men in Media at Hudson Grille located at 942 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA. This event is open to the public and Twitter users can join the conversation using the hashtag #YBGLI.
