Professional mourners, baby back ribs, and more antics than I can even type for this post… TLC’s one-time special ‘Best Funeral Ever’ is coming back for a full season.
“The buzzed-about special now returns as a series. For most of us, death is a time to mourn. But for others, it’s a time to honor loved ones and celebrate their lives with home-going celebrations, services that turn the traditional funeral on its head. In its first season, BEST FUNERAL EVER goes inside the Dallas-based Golden Gate Funeral Home where John Beckwith Jr. and his staff organize the most unique ceremonies in the country, proving once again that, while you may be in a casket, it can still be fantastic!”
L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell, and Britney Spears are living it up on The X Factor this season. The talent is shitty; but hey, their checks have already cleared the bank! In an unexpected statement released yesterday (Dec. 13) a representative for L.A. Reid at Epic Records confirmed he will not be back for another season.
Since he’s quitting I guess he can focus his job as a record label chairman and help Ciara get a release date, since latest rumors say her album ‘One Woman Army’ has been shelved.
Season 4 winner of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ won’t be back for the All-Stars round. But Sharon Needles will be down in Texas serving you Dr. Frank-N-Furter in live theatre production The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
From October 4 through the 27, guests can see Miss Needles perform at the Woodlawn Theatre [in San Antonio, Texas] for just $35, or for $50 get VIP seats and a meet and greet with the season four winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter was made famous by Tim Curry in the 1975 film, and has been played of recent by actors including Julian McMahon and Amber Riley, the latter in Glee‘s hugely popular episode centered around the film.
Multi-platinum selling Grammy Award-winning R&B/pop singer songwriter and superstar actress Brandy announces today that she will make a guest co-host appearance on BET’s “106th and Park” next Tuesday, August 14th to premiere her video “Put It Down” featuring Chris Brown, directed by famed lensman Hype Williams. The video is also scheduled to premiere across VEVO that same day. In addition, Entertainment Tonight’s “The Insider” will be running an exclusive interview behind the scenes of the video shoot piece with Brandy next Tuesday, August 14th, as well.
Here’s the sneak peak B’Rocka dropped a few days ago.
I’m so sick of announcements of what will happen and teases of what’s to come. Brandy, sis, you need to BRING IT or get out my face. As a matter of fact…
The world will finally get to experience the boojie, hood cunt that is Rasheeda! #excited
While I do a naaaaaasty slow jam twerk to ‘Legs to the Moon’ peep this press release about the show:
VH1′s Love & Hip Hop is back with a facelift featuring a new city and new cast members. Atlanta welcomes the 10-episode series with open arms. Airing on June 18 at 8 p.m. EST, the spinoff show will include Grammy Award-Winning producer Stevie J, his girlfriend Mimi Faust, rising Latina rapper Joseline, Lil Scrappy, his girlfriend Erica Dixon and his mother (sounds familiar?), Atlanta rapper Rasheeda and new artists K. Michelle and Karlie Reed.
While we are sure drama will be involved to some extent, the show’s mission is to watch the cast as they chase their dreams with a “southern twist.” After getting well-acquainted with the members of the original ‘Love & Hip-Hop, we hope these new members will fulfill all the needs that the first one gave us.
I guess they’re opening the doors for gays like me to be on a show some day. Can’t be mad at that.
BET says move over ‘every fill-in-the-blank Wives franchise,’ After the success of Kevin Hart’s “The Real House Husbands of Hollywood” skit from the 2011 BET Awards, they decided to give him his own semi-scripted show:
The insanely funny sketch from the 2011 BET Awards (which quickly became a phenomenon) starring host Kevin Hart, rap heart throb Nelly, R&B crooner Bobby Brown, comedian Anthony Anderson and film star Nick Cannon is coming to primetime. The “housewives”don’t even know what it means to be a real Hollywood husband. The pressures of spousal stardom are almost too much to bear. Watch the House Husbands air it all out in this semi-scripted reality TV spoof of every fill-in-the-blank Wives franchise.
No word yet on who will be his co-stars when the show airs this fall. But I’m sure you are already brewing up a few people in your head.
Who would you pick to star in the ‘House Husbands?’
