For about $40 I’d say the Queen James version of The Holy Bible will be a hot commodity this holiday season. This remix to the King James edition intends to clear up all the anti-equality misconceptions people say the book endorses.
“Homosexuality was first mentioned in the Bible in 1946 in the Revised Standard Version. There is no mention of or reference to homosexuality in any Bible prior to this,” The official website says. “Only interpretations have been made. Anti-LGBT Bible interpretations commonly cite only eight verses in the Bible that they interpret to mean homosexuality is a sin; Eight verses in a book of thousands!”

Reverend Glynn Cardy of St. Matthew in the City Church located in Aotearoa, New Zealand praises this new edition. He tells Daily Mail the word “homosexuality” didn’t even exist until the 1800’s so anything people say about same-gender loving being a sin will be miscontrued by default. Plus, the Bible never mentions Jesus’ sexuality so how can anybody tell a person who they can love.
On the other side of things Douglas J. Moo, Wessner Chair of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College and a professional Bible translator, tells The Christian Post:
Few, if any English translations use the actual words ‘homosexuality’ or ‘homosexual.’ But the history of English translation shows that versions have consistently used other language to refer to what we would call homosexual relationships. For instance, the King James Version of Romans 1:27 refers to ‘men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly. It would be very difficult to deny that this language, and the language found in many other places in both the [Old Testament] and the [New Testament], refers to homosexuality.
Here’s a few verses from the Queen James Bible. Read for yourself and tell me what you think in the comments!
Leviticus 18:22 (King James): Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.
