All those savings from eating off the Burger King value menu is about to come in handy.
The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, known as FFAWN, is facing two lawsuits according to the New York Post. They are reporting FFAWN closed it’s doors after a mere four years with unpaid debts – $167,252 to a band who played at the 2011 benefit concert and going default on a $250,000 loan from TD Bank.
A source tells NY Post someone had previously been hired to look into money being stolen.
Mary promoted her fragrance My Life on the Home Shopping Network in 2010 promising $1 from every bottle sold would be donated to FFAWN. That $60,000 still remains unaccounted for as well as a 2010 tax return.
Looks like Mary has a question or two to be asking her accountant …
