A new study shows – y’all know y’all love scientific findings on these blogs – says hepatitis b and c, along with HIV and a bunch of other shit is all about to become a thing of the past. Why? Bee venom!
The latest issue of Antiviral Therapy says a new study has found a toxin called melittin can destroy the protective shell around HIV-carrying cells (and all the other viruses mentioned) while leaving other “normal” cells intact.
Scientists hope to put melittin in new lubes to help decrease the transmission of those viruses. But this isn’t the first time melittin has shitted on the science world. Watch below as Pocket Science talks about how bee venom can be use to fight cancer.
