Again I ask where is the separation between church and state y’all been telling me about?

In a world where a professional football player can legally be renamed to “Ocho Cinco” and a basketball player can be renamed to “Metta World Peace,” why can’t James Dean Ingram – a male-to-female transgender – be renamed Angela Renee Ingram?

“I wanted to give up and just die,” James said, who was turned down on August 30th.

“It’s so important because it’s who I am. I can’t be who I am with a male name.”

“Soon as I was out of the courtroom I collapsed and started to cry … never before have I wanted more to kill myself.”

Last year the same judge denied 62-year old Charles Harvey the right to change his name to Christie Ann Harvey.

Oklahoma District Judge Bill Graves claims the DNA of someone in transition doesn’t change therefore he’s not granting their requests. “A so-called sex-change surgery can make one appear to be the opposite sex, but in fact they are nothing more than an imitation of the opposite sex.”

“Here, petitioner has not even had the surgery by which his sex purports to be changed. Thus, based on the foregoing and the DNA evidence, a sex change cannot make a man a woman or a woman a man all of which, the Court finds is sufficient in and of itself to deny petitioner’s request for a name change,” he wrote in his verdict.

“To grant a name change in this case would be to assist that which is fraudulent.”

“It is notable that Genesis 1:27-28 states: ‘So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them… The DNA code shows God meant for them to stay male and female.”

Judge Graves’ report also says he doesn’t want to contribute to confusing people because their new name may be common for a certain sex. It will get confusing during criminal investigations. And, people will use the name change process as a way around the current ban on same-sex marriage.

Y-A-W-N! That’s a lot to say for a person with no Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, nor Psychology, right!? We allowed Chad Johnson to become Ocho Cinco simply because the number on his jersey is 85. I can think of plenty genderless names – Courtney, Ashley, Francis, Gene, Sam, Taylor, and Adrian among others. Admit it Judge Graves, James Dean case was denied because he’s gay. SMH.

Should the judge allow James to become Angela?
